Terrier group, bred in Ireland for farm work
Typically between 18-20 inches tall and between 30-50 pounds, this is a non-shedding and hypo-allergenic breed that can be left “shaggy” or professionally groomed for a shorter, easier to maintain coat. They come in the color “wheaten” which is dark as a puppy and lightens to creamy beige as they mature. The tail is docked short. This is a “tough” terrier and is hardy, loyal to their family and intelligent. They love to play, swim, hike and do well with active families that like an athletic breed to keep up with their lifestyle. They are known to keep their puppy behavior long into adulthood. Average lifespan is 10-14 years.
