non-sporting group, bred in France
Considered a “mini” bulldog, this breed has easy to distinguish “batlike” ears that stand up erect and a stumpy tail. They typically are between 10-14 inches tall and 15-30 pounds and can be black, brindle, cream, white, or fawn, with or without white markings and piebald. Affectionate, sturdy, hardy, they have a short coat that sheds very little. They are more active than the English Bulldog and don’t have the same health problems associated with the larger cousin, although they also have a harder time in the hot, summer months. Typically live 10-14 years.
